
San Marcos roared out to a 12-2 lead in the first half and beat Santa Barbara High 15-4 in a Channel League girls lacrosse match at Warkentin Stadium on Wednesday.
Eight players scored for the Royals, led by Meiya Sidney with three goals. She also had two assists.
“It was a good balanced effort all over the field again for us and we had some players contribute to scoring plays for the first time this season,” said San Marcos head coach Paul Ramsey.
San Marcos improved to 3-5, 2-1 while Santa Barbara dropped to 2-3, 0-3.
Santa Barbara, which has enough players for a starting lineup, got strong play from freshman defender Maddie Oblander, said coach Elayne Blessing.

San Marcos next plays at Cate on Friday, while Santa Barbara is off unitl May 5, when it plays at Nordhoff.
