The Bishop Diego girls basketball team won its 11th game of the season, pulling away in the second half to beat Thacher, 46-26, on Thursday.

Galilea De La Cruz scored 14 points and Jaymi Coronado had 10 to lead the Cardinals (11-1).

After a slow first half, the Cardinals stepped up and outscored the Toads 27-10 in the second half.

Citlali Morales and Lily Simolon each scored eight points and contributed in other areas.

“Citlali played tough tonight. Defensively, she set the tone,” said coach Jeff Burich. “Lily played multiple positions tonight, but no matter where she is she always puts herself in a position to get a rebound.”

The Cardinals are home Friday against Hueneme.
