Bishop Diego girls volleyball rolled to a three-set road sweep of Malibu High on Monday night in Malibu, 25-19, 25-16, 25-15.
“After what was not our best showing on Thursday, I was a little nervous about a Monday match,” Cardinal head coach Dillan Bennett said. “We came out a little slow, but worked our way into the flow of the game and turned up the focus.
“I thought we were better on defense tonight, and I thought Abby Walters did a nice job getting the ball to Ella, Brighton and Abbie Hubbs.”
Karina Urzua ended the night with a double-double of 12 kills and 14 digs, and nearly tallied a triple-double with eight aces. Natalie Chan had 10 kills and eight digs, while Ella Fuentes chipped in two blocks.
The Cardinals (11-4, 4-1 Tri-Valley League) will host Foothill Tech on Tuesday at 5 p.m.
