Bishop Diego alum Caleb Richey is making his return to the Brick House, this time as the head boys basketball coach.
Richey, who graduated from Bishop Diego in 2013, brings an extensive background as a player into his new position at the helm of the Cardinals’ program.
He played college basketball at William Jessup University, Citrus College and Cal Lutheran. After his college days, he played professionally in Europe, the Middle East and Asia.
“We are very lucky to have a Cardinal graduate coach these young men,” Bishop Diego athletic director John Muller said. “There is always tremendous value in hiring a coach that is an alumnus.
“He brings a wealth of collegiate and international experience to our program. The players were fired up today when we announced him at our meeting today.”
Richey is taking over a youthful squad coming off a 12-17 campaign where they showed flashes of potential throughout the season.
