The Bishop Diego and San Marcos football teams will represent the Santa Barbara area in the CIF-SS playoffs this season, and they will begin their runs this Friday.
The Cardinals and Royals each finished in the top three of their league standings to earn automatic bids into the postseason.
Bishop Diego, fresh off an 8-2 regular season and a second-place finish in the Marmonte League, was slotted into the CIF-SS Div. 4 playoff bracket.
The Cardinals will roll out the welcome mats for San Jacinto on Friday, Nov. 7, at 7 p.m. at La Playa Field.
San Jacinto put together a 7-3 record in the regular season, capturing the Mountain Pass League title along the way.
Meanwhile, San Marcos clinched its spot in the playoffs on the final day of the regular season with a win to go 4-6 and take third place in the Tri-County League.
The Royals were placed in the CIF-SS Div. 11 playoffs, where they will hit the road to take on South Pasadena on Friday, Nov. 7 at 7 p.m. in Pasadena.
South Pasadena won the Rio Hondo League championship with its overall record of 6-4.
