Bishop Diego softball suffered a 3-0 Tri-Valley League loss to Grace on Tuesday in Santa Barbara.
The Lancers plated two runs in the top of the first to get the scoring started and added one in the third, which proved to be more than enough for the win.
Meanwhile, the Cardinals were held to just two hits courtesy of Pilar Alvarez and Keke Flores.
“We stepped it up defensively today to make it a game,” Bishop Diego head coach MeLinda Matsumuoto said. “We hit the ball hard but right at people today.
“I am proud of our girls today for putting up a fight and staying in the game for all seven innings. They fought at the plate and had great at bats and made her work.”
The Cardinals will take on Faith Baptist on the road on Thursday.
