Bishop Diego swimmers will compete in the consolation finals at the CIF-SS Division 4 Championships on Saturday in Riverside.
In Tuesday’s prelims, Capri Aquistapace earned a spot in the consolation finals of the 200 freestyle. She also competed in the 500 free
Noah Peterson earned a consolation finals slot in the boys 200 freestyle with his first sub two-minute swim of his career, said coach Connor Levoff. He also competed in the 100 free and led off Bishop’s 200 free relay team.
The team of Peterson, Charlie Brand, David Aquistapace, and Drin Ymeri all had their best swims of the year, and they jumped up 12 slots from their qualifying time to place 12th overall and earn a berth in the consolation finals on Saturday. The relay team has cut almost :20 seconds off their early season times.
“Our swimmers have really stepped up and put their best foot forward at League Finals and CIF,” said Levoff. “I’m extremely proud of this group and looking forward to Saturday as we put a wrap on this swim season and the school year.”
