Bishop Diego Girls Volleyball will host 27 teams for the Cardinal Classic this Saturday, with plenty of local teams scattered throughout the bracket.

The tournament is broken up into Gold and Silver Divisions, with the Gold Division playing at Page Youth Center and the Silver squads playing at Bishop Diego.

Dos Pueblos, Bishop Diego, San Marcos and Santa Barbara find themselves in the Gold Division while Laguna Blanca, Santa Ynez and Cate are in the Silver Division.

Bishop Diego and Dos Pueblos are in the same pool along with South Pasadena. San Marcos was grouped in with Granada Hills, Rio Hondo Prep and Viewpoint. Meanwhile, Santa Barbara will compete in pool play with Valencia, La Reina and Newbury Park.

In the Silver Division, Laguna Blanca faces off against Mission Prep, SLO Classical and Cabrillo. Santa Ynez is in Pool F, which features Trinity Classical, Villanova Prep and Foothill Tech. Finally, Cate will be in the same pool as Coastal Christian, Wildwood and Chadwick.

Following pool play in their respective divisions, the top teams will advance to bracket play later in the day, also separated by divisions.

The tournament will end with a pair of champions, one from the Gold Division and one from the Silver Division.
