Bishop Diego sophomore Lucy Plowman singled in the go-ahead run in the top of the seventh and the Cardinals hung on to beat Carpinteria 12-11 on Saturday.

Bishop took a 9-0 lead in the third inning, only to have the Warriors score 11 runs in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings to take the lead. A two-run single with two outs by the Cardinals’ Tessa Johansen tied the game, setting up Plowman’s RBI hit.

Amarisse Camargo and Gracie Verdugo had three hits each to lead Carpinteria. Sophie Benoit, Lauren Weeks and Lily Simolon had three hits each for Bishop Diego.

Lauren Weeks went the distance for the Cardinals for the win. Renata Martinez started for the Warriors and went three innings, with Verdugo pitching four innings in relief.
