The Bishop Diego girls won their first round CIF-SS Division 7 game Saturday, 9-0 over Calvary Chapel of Downey.
Kayalilly Penn led the way for the Cardinals, with three goals.
“The girls really come to play,” Bishop Diego coach Pato Guerrero said.
The fourth-ranked Cardinals play round two on Wednesday against the winner of Pilibos and Cal Military.
