The Bishop Diego Cardinals won their fourth sweep in a row, and third in three days, downing Thacher 25-2, 25-15, 25-14 in a Frontier League matchup Friday.
The Cardinals, ranked fifth in CIF-SS Division 7, are now 4-0 in league play and 15-6 overall.
Freshmen Eliana Urzua led the team 15 kills and two aces, and Kylie Zimmerman had six kills and two blocks. Clara McDonald had five kills and a block.
“As we head into our next three league matches, we want to maintain our service pressure, while incorporating other aspects of our offense,” Bishop Diego coach Dillan Bennett said. “I’m really pleased with our connections in the middle right now, which will help us spread out the opposing defense.”
Another busy week looms, with matches on Monday at Santa Clara and Tuesday at Villanova before hosting Providence on Thursday.
“We’re looking forward to a lot more live game reps this week while we tune up for two very strong matches against Providence/Burbank and Harvard-Westlake on Saturday,” Bennett said.
