Jenna Hayes gave Bishop Diego a first-inning lead with an RBI single, but from there it was a rough day Thursday for the Cardinals in a 14-4 Tri-Valley League loss to Foothill Tech.
The Dragons pulled away for good with a five-run second inning and added five more in the fourth.
For the Cardinals, Lily Simolon hit a home run in the fifth inning. Tara Gregson, Chelsea Hayes, Tessa Johansen, Hayes, and Yvette Rosales, Jenna Hayes and Simolon managed one hit apiece for Bishop Diego. Gregson started on the mound and took the loss.
Foothill Tech tallied 12 hits and made no errors. Natalie Nunes went 3-for-3 for the Dragons.
