Local sandwich chain South Coast Deli is moving into Santa Barbara’s Funk Zone at 205 Santa Barbara St., Suite 1B, after Rincon Brewery closed its doors earlier this month.

A sign with the company’s mascot can be seen at the corner of Santa Barbara and Yanonali streets.

The building appears to be under construction, and South Coast Deli employees were seen working at the site on Thursday. 

It will be the sandwich chain’s fourth location on the South Coast.

The company hopes to open the new location in mid-April. 

Urbane Cafe Plans to Open in Goleta

Sandwich and salad chain Urbane Cafe is heading to Goleta, its first location on the South Coast. 

The new location is set to open at 7000 Hollister Ave., the same shopping center where Raising Cane’s is expected to move in

A spokesperson for Urbane Cafe confirmed that the Goleta location is expected to open in early 2027. 

Until then, sandwich lovers can visit the one Santa Barbara County location in Santa Maria at 655 E. Betteravia Road.

Mysterious New Bar Opens on State Street

Arnie’s Rooftop Bar Opening in April

Arnie’s Rooftop Bar will begin serving up specialty cocktails and local wine on April 20. 

The bar’s owner, Arnie Sturham, brings 20 years of restaurant experience to the business. He ran a pub and pizzeria in Bainbridge Island, Washington, before moving to Santa Barbara three years ago.
