Dos Pueblos boys golf capped off Channel League action with a season-best performance and a win over Rio Mesa on Thursday at Glen Annie Golf Club.

The Chargers combined for a season-low score of 357 to beat out the Spartans and their score of 439. Dos Pueblos also honored its senior class of Teddy Vigna, Scott Nightingale and Laith Reynolds.

Vigna put on a show on his Senior Day, shooting a stellar four-under-par 67 to lead his Chargers to the win. Meanwhile, Reynolds finished at a two-over-par 73 and Nightingale shot a three-over-par 74.

The other Dos Pueblos golfers were Colt Roberts (-2) and Orlando Ramirez-Gijon (+4).

“All in all, it was a day full of great golf, big moments and a heartfelt sendoff for the seniors,” Dos Pueblos head coach Kevin Ahlers said. “As the sun set over Glen Annie, the Chargers walked off the course knowing they had given it everything and then some.”

The Chargers are now 10-4 overall and end the league season with a 5-2 record.

Santa Ynez 434, Bishop Diego 435

Santa Ynez High boys golf edged out Bishop Diego in a non-league contest on Thursday at Alisal River Course, a par 72.

Cody Armenta of Santa Ynez picked up medalist honors with a match-best score of a four-over-par 76.

Armenta was followed by Brayden Mlodzik (78), Ernesto Suarez (88), Sebastian Jacobs (95), Cameron Celestin (97) and Barrett Johnson (97).

Meanwhile, the Bishop Diego golfers were Dominic DeRosa (83), Gabe Villa (87), Jack Eliassen (88), Luke Eliassen (88), Conner Carty (89) and Carlos Moreno (92).

Santa Barbara 363, Buena 376

The Dons pulled out a Channel League win over the Bulldogs on Thursday at Santa Barbara Golf Club, a par 70 course.

The Buena duo of Brady McHenry and Adam Anderson led all golfers as co-medalists with four-under-par 66s. McHenry and Anderson are signed to Texas Tech and Oklahoma, respectively.

Meanwhile, Noah Arndt’s one-over-par 71 led the charge for Santa Barbara High.

Arndt was joined by Graham Chapman (72), Alex Ortega (72), Liam Horn (74), Jeremy Westmacott (74) and Elliott Blinderman (81).

“Our depth and consistency top to bottom came through today,” Dons head coach Ryan Throop said. “Numbers 1-to-5 were a difference of only three strokes.”

Santa Barbara High (14-3, 6-1 Channel League) will compete in the league individual finals on Monday at River Ridge Lakes Course.

Laguna Blanca 232, Providence 326

The Owls took down the Patriots in a Tri-Valley League matchup at Santa Barbara Golf Course on Thursday.

Kevin Lu and Jules Leclercq led the way for Laguna Blanca in the 9-hole match, shooting a 38 and 43, respectively.

Meanwhile, Providence’s Noah Beers shot a personal best of 52 to lead his team.

“We had some beautiful shots by each team, and the putts that sink remind us all why we play,” Laguna Blanca head coach Valerie Yoshimura said.
