The Carpinteria boys fell behind early and succumbed to Fillmore in a Citrus Coast League match on the road Friday.

Fillmore put the pressure on from the start, scoring on a Carpinteria defensive mistake in the seventh minute.

The Warriors then started creating chances, though couldn’t tie the game. Fillmore kept the pressure on and took a 2-0 halftime lead. Carpinteria came out playing hard in the second half, but a foul inside the box in the 50th minute gave Fillmore a penalty kick, which was converted for a 3-0 lead. The final score came 15 minutes later.

“The Warriors fought hard, but we couldn’t manage to create scoring opportunities to get us back in the game,” Carpinteria coach Gerry Rodriguez said.

The Warriors host Malibu next week.
