Bishop Diego boys volleyball went on the road and came away with a sweep of Foothill Tech on Thursday in Ventura, 25-20, 25-18, 25-18.

The Cardinals are now 10-3 overall and 4-0 against league opponents ahead of a non-league match with Bakersfield Christian on Friday at 4 p.m.

“Foothill Tech has three guys who get up and bang the ball, and since they haven’t played as much this season, we didn’t have a great game plan heading into the match,” Bishop Diego head coach Dillan Bennett said.

“I credit the guys for making adjustments to how they attacked the block, and the defensive adjustments we had to make to try to mitigate their offense. We were able to focus on simple plays and serve the ball in bounds. We played well. We’ll look to clean up the errors this weekend.”

John Michael Flint tallied 14 kills and served up a pair of aces for the Cardinals, while Damien Krautmann tallied 13 kills and had one ace.

The duo of Kingston Bustos and Tua Rojas shined in the middle, and Luke Waters collected 37 assists, six digs and three kills.

Dos Pueblos 3, Buena 0

The Chargers cruised to a three-set sweep of the Bulldogs on Thursday in Ventura, 25-12, 25-8, 25-10.

Caleb Damron had a strong night for Dos Pueblos in the middle, hammering home a team-high nine kills for the victory.

“Caleb Damron was efficient from the middle,” Charger head coach Ehren Hug said. “Caleb is so quick and athletic off the ground, he really shined tonight. The team passed well to put him and the other attackers in great opportunities to earn points.”

Evan Daugherty chipped in eight kills of his own, while Leo Hine ended the night with seven. Keenan Bower and Kevin McGibben totaled 17 and 11 assists, respectively.

Dos Pueblos (10-6, 3-2 Channel League) will host Oxnard on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.

Carpinteria High 3, Fillmore 1

The Warriors went on the road and came away with a four-set victory over Fillmore on Thursday, 21-25, 25-14, 25-18, 25-14.

“It was another very hot day inside a tough gym, but after dropping the first set, the boys responded well and took control of the match,” Carpinteria High head coach Favian Muralles said. “We adjusted, stayed composed, and played with much more energy in the final three sets.”

Cole Rowbottom led the Warriors with nine kills, while both Rafael Cintura (21 digs, 6 aces) and Alariuziel Rodriguez (15 digs, 4 kills) contributed both offensively and defensively.

Carpinteria High (7-2, 4-1 Citrus Coast League) will host a non-league match with Del Sol on Friday.
