Dos Pueblos boys volleyball put together a sweep of Ventura High on Senior Night on Tuesday inside Sovine Gym, 25-18, 25-21, 25-19.

The Chargers honored their senior class of Keenan Bower, Enzo DeMatteo, Owen Ribbens, Ben Wojogbe and Owen Andrews.

“All five (seniors) played some of the best volleyball of their four-year careers tonight and with a lot of heart too,” Dos Pueblos head coach Ehren Hug said. “The coaches and I got to sit back and enjoy the show with the parents and fans tonight because from point one, they were mentally locked in and we were getting their best effort every play.

“They celebrated the highs and got past the lows, but were right back into competitive mode super quickly.”

Wojogbe filled up the stat sheet for the Chargers with 18 kills, 13 digs, two blocks and two aces. Meanwhile, Bower facilitated an offensive attack in which every attacker had at least four kills, collecting 37 assists and six digs of his own.

DeMatteo ended the night with five kills, five aces and four blocks, while Ribbens tallied nine kills and Andrews recorded six digs.

Dos Pueblos (14-13, 5-5 Channel League) finished third in the Channel League and will await its CIF-SS playoff division and first-round matchup, which is set to be released on Saturday.

Bishop Diego 3, Foothill Tech 0

The Cardinals closed out their regular season with a sweep of Foothill Tech on Tuesday inside the Brick House, 25-16, 25-20, 25-19.

“It was wonderful to celebrate our seniors tonight in the Brick House,” Bishop Diego head coach Dillan Bennett said. “Everyone played a role in the victory, and I’m excited for our prep time for the playoffs in the next few days. We’re excited to get to work tomorrow.”

John Michael Flint led the offensive effort with 15 kills and was joined in double figures by Damien Krautmann, who hammered down 12 kills of his own.

Flint and Krautmann also made an impact on the defensive end with six and five digs, respectively.

The Tri-Valley League champion Cardinals will now await their playoff division and first-round matchup.

Providence 3, Dunn 0

The Patriots kept their postseason hopes alive with a sweep of Dunn on Tuesday, 25-13, 25-15, 25-17.

“We’ve really shown up to games where we were not expected to win, and sometimes we haven’t shown up to games that we were expected to win, so it was good for the guys to sweep this match that we were favored to win,” Providence head coach Dan Terry said.

Sam Olyinyk collected a team-high nine kills for the Patriots, who turned in a balanced offensive effort in the win.

Providence will now be on the road against Cate on Wednesday at 4 p.m. With Tuesday’s win, the Patriots have met the qualifications for an at-large bid consideration for the CIF-SS playoffs.

“I’m really looking forward to the rubber match with Cate tomorrow,” Terry said. “I’m glad we get to battle a well-matched team before potentially going into the postseason.”
