Dos Pueblos boys water polo fell to Buena by a score of 9-8 in the Channel League Tournament championship on Wednesday at the Elings Aquatic Center.
The Chargers, who won the Channel League regular season title, were undefeated against league opponents this season before Wednesday’s loss.
After the Bulldogs got out to a 3-1 lead after the first quarter, Dos Pueblos bounced back and battled to tie the game at 6-6 at the end of three quarters.

Buena reclaimed the lead and held it for the majority of the fourth quarter, as the Chargers cut it down to 9-8 with 37 seconds left on the clock.
At the 14-second mark, Dos Pueblos’ Eli Carnaghe came away with a steal and the Chargers had a chance to tie the game up. However, they couldn’t finish on the offensive end and the Bulldogs survived for the win.
Ben Fuhrer, Adam Gelman and Lucas Neushul scored two goals apiece for the Dos Pueblos offense, while Ty Abel and Grant Nelson each scored once.
Meanwhile, Aricin Marshall dished out three assists and Koa Zertuche ended the day with six saves.

San Marcos dominated the game from start to finish, building up a commanding 10-1 lead at halftime before cruising to the win in the second half.
Will Stuart led the Royals with three goals, while Brandon Lee and Christian Yonker each scored twice.
It was an all-around effort for San Marcos, as 12 different players found the back of the net in the win.

Santa Barbara High began the day with a 14-4 win over Oxnard behind a three-goal effort from Will Stearns-Corbin.

Carpinteria High 10, Camarillo 8
The Warriors capped off their regular season with a victory over Camarillo on Wednesday at the Adolfo Aquatics Center.
“These gentlemen knew they needed to step up without two of our main starters—and they showed up today,” Carpinteria High head coach Russell Russo said. “Our boys are ready and excited to see how CIF plays out.”
Chris Reed, Micah Smith, Sky Korling and Ryder Shaw all scored in the opening half to help the Warriors build a 5-3 halftime lead.
In the third quarter, Camarillo cut the deficit down to one goal, but Reed and Smith each scored to bring the lead back to two at 8-6 with one quarter left.
The Warrior defense then stepped up down the stretch, with Stefano Piccoletti leading the charge in the cage to pull out the victory.
