Carpinteria High boys water polo rolled to a 15-4 win over Villanova Prep on Wednesday in Carpinteria.
The Warriors dominated the opening stages of the game, pulling away for a 10-1 lead before the halftime break. Carpinteria continued to control both ends of the pool en route to the victory.
Oscar De Leon, Cade McCallister, Brandyn Moore, Junius Fedders and Luke Donahue all contributed to a balanced offensive attack by the Warriors.
On the defensive end, Stefano Picoletti led the way with four blocks and two steals in a dominant effort.
Carpinteria High will be on the road on Friday against Nordhoff.
Cate 20, Hueneme 1
The Rams continued their unbeaten start to the season with a road rout of Hueneme on Wednesday.
Owen Mathripraganda recorded a hat trick for Cate, while Devon Liang scored twice and dished out five assists.
Sammy Kellogg shined on both ends with one goal and four field blocks, and Andrew Sheshunoff tallied five saves and five assists in the win.
“It felt great to have our group back in the pool after our trip in the backcountry,” Cate head coach Jesse Morrisons said. “While we are still getting our conditioning back and our legs underneath us, we looked strong during this match.
“We had contributions across the board, with some guys scoring their first goals of the season.”
The Rams (8-0, 3-0 TVL) will be on the road against Villanova Prep next Wednesday.
