Carpinteria High boys water polo rolled to a 14-4 Citrus Coast League win over Hueneme on Tuesday.

Carpinteria dominated the first quarter, taking an early 4-0 lead and never looking back en route to the victory.

While every Warrior found the back of the net, Chris Reed and Jake Ehlers tallied three assists apiece. Kyle Taff, Luke Donahue and Sebastian Chisum-Grindle each scored off the bench.

Carpinteria High will take on Hueneme for a rematch on Thursday.

Cate 9, Foothill Tech 4

The Rams secured their first-ever league title with a victory over Foothill Tech on Tuesday.

“The result was a culmination of commitment, effort, and love from a group of kids who have invested so much of themselves into the growth of our program,” Cate head coach Jesse Morrison said. “I couldn’t be prouder of them as their coach. 

Cate got a balanced scoring attack as Jae Wykoff, Fletcher Prince, Elliott Paige and Sebastian Brine each scored twice. Liam Moes rounded out the scoring with one goal.

On the defensive end, Wykoff and Emmanuel Brine each tallied two steals while Andrew Sheshunoff recorded six saves.

The Rams will round out the regular season on Thursday at Villanova Prep.

Ventura 13, Santa Barbara High 8

The Dons fell to the Cougars on Tuesday in a Channel League battle.

Lorenzo Russell’s three goals led the Santa Barbara High offense, while Jack Fulbeck tallied two goals and two steals.

Meanwhile, Paolo Borgioli tallied a goal and two steals and Mason Walsh recorded one goal, three assists and two exclusions earned.

Will Stearns-Corbin turned in a strong performance on the defensive end, causing several Ventura turnovers.

The Dons will be on the road against Thousand Oaks on Wednesday.
