Santa Barbara High boys water polo earned its third straight win to begin Pacific View League action with a 13-5 victory over Rio Mesa on Thursday in Santa Barbara.

The Dons are now 3-0 in their first season in a brand-new league alongside Rio Mesa, Oxnard and Channel Islands.

The Santa Barbara trio of Luke Karman, Gio Garcia and Jordan led the offensive effort with three goals apiece.

Meanwhile, Theo Freidman dished out two assists and swiped a pair of steals and Charlie Gray tallied five saves and two assists in the cage.

The Dons will host Channel Islands for another league matchup on Tuesday.

Dos Pueblos 12, Ventura 6

The Chargers secured a Channel League win over the Cougars on Thursday at Elings Aquatics Center.

Thursday’s win also marked Senior Day for Dos Pueblos, which honored seniors Grant Nelson, Lucas Neushul, Luke Molyneux and Diego Fallon.

Nelson and Neushul led the team with three goals apiece, while Molyneux and Fallon each scored once. Tyler Racine added two goals, while Max Gelman and Skyler Carroll scored once to round out the scoring.

In the cage, Koa Zertuche gobbled up 12 saves to anchor the strong defensive effort.

The Chargers dominated the opening stages, leading 5-0 after the first and 7-1 after the second quarter en route to the comfortable win.

Dos Pueblos (14-5, 3-0 Channel League) will compete in the Memorial Cup at Bellarmine High this weekend in San Jose.
