The Boys & Girls Clubs of Mid Central Coast will offer free vaccine clinics for youth ages 5-12 beginning Wednesday, Nov. 10 in Santa Maria. Albertsons Pharmacy staff will be at the Santa Maria Clubhouse, 901 N. Railroad Ave. 5-7 p.m. every Wednesday and Friday through January to provide the vaccines. Any eligible child is welcome and no insurance or fee is required.

“We are now able to play a part in making sure our youth have a safe location to receive their COVID vaccine,” said Anna Libbon, director of programs for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Mid Central Coast. “As the premiere place for youth, it’s important that we help families make healthy choices for their kids.

“Since ‘Whatever it Takes’ is the motto of our organization, providing a kid-centered approach to accessing this vaccine is part of what we do everyday to serve kids.”

As doctors offices and other clinics are overwhelmed with requests for appointments, the club hopes this resource will increase access to the important healthcare opportunity for families.

To prepare staff and supplies, families are encouraged to RSVP on the Boys & Girls Clubs website or call 805-922-7163. The required consent form is also available on the website in English and Spanish for parents to download and fill out in advance. Paperwork can be completed at the appointment as well.

Founded in 1966, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Mid Central Coast (formerly Boys & Girls Clubs of Santa Maria Valley and Boys & Girls Clubs of North SLO County) has 13 club sites in Santa Maria, Guadalupe, Atascadero, Shandon and Paso Robles.
