Bryce Warrecker tossed in 24 points and grabbed 14 rebounds on Friday night and Jackson Gonzales played great defense to spark Santa Barbara High to a 65-55 win over Corona del Mar in the Sea Kings’ boys basketball tournament.
“It was probably our best all-around game from start to finish this year,” said coach Corey Adam. “We’ve been starting games slowly but tonight we came out from the start with great intensity. We led by one at the half, then started the third quarter on an 8-0 run and were able to maintain a 9-16 point lead for the remainder of the game.
“Jackson Gonzalez was integral in leading the charge. He finished with 12 points and created havoc defensively. harassing the CDM point guard all over the court. Stephen Davis played a solid all-around game, finishing with 13. Jasper Johnson played great defense and chipped in with big 3’s in the fourth quarter, finishing with 8.”
The Dons will play Los Alamitos on Saturday.
