Community members are invited to roll the dice and make a difference at the Bunco Bonanza fundraiser for the Kiwanis Club of Santa Maria-Noontime, noon-3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 16 at Minami Community Center, 600 W. Enos, Santa Maria.

“Bunco Bonanza is more than just a game, it’s about bringing our community together while supporting local youth and families,” said club member Elaine Guzman.

“In 2024-25, we took 100-125 local children on our annual Back to School Shopping Spree; awarded $42,470 in scholarships to 33 graduating high school seniors; and honored over 80 students at our CSF Recognition Dinner,” she said.

“We also helped feed 100-plus homeless individuals monthly at the Good Samaritan Shelter and built 63 beds for children in need through our Sleep in Heavenly Peace partnership,” Guzman said.

“Our goal is to raise $15,000 this year, which will make a tremendous impact on youth programs throughout Santa Maria,” said Donna Beal, club president. “Every ticket sold helps us continue our mission of supporting local children and families.”

Tickets to Bunco Bonanza are $40 and include lunch. Tickets are available at santamariakiwanis.org.

Wine, beer and mimosas will be available for purchase and a bake sale will offer homemade treats.

Prizes will be awarded for most Buncos, most wins, most losses, and 50/50 drawing.

Funds raised through Bunco Bonanza also support the club’s partnerships with organizations like Children’s Resource & Referral, Allan Hancock College Foundation and SMOOTH.

The club supports five youth leadership programs including Key Club, Aktion Club, Builder’s Club, Circle K, and K-Kids clubs throughout the Santa Maria area.
