Five suspects were being sought in connection with a burglary that occurred early Tuesday at the Indo China Market in Goleta’s Storke Plaza shopping center, according to the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Department.
Shortly before 4:25 a.m. on Tuesday, sheriff’s deputies responded to a burglary alarm on the 6800 block of Hollister Avenue, sheriff’s spokeswoman Raquel Zick said.
When deputies arrived, Zick said, they discovered “signs of forced entry.”
They searched the interior of the business and the surrounding area, but were unable to locate the burglars, Zick said.
“The initial investigation indicates that there are five suspects who are associated with a dark-colored sedan,” Zick said Wednesday. “Items taken during the burglary include an undisclosed amount of cash, as well as personal and business documents.”
Deputies were assisted in their investigation by the forensics technicians for the collection of evidence, Zick said.
Anyone with information about this incident or the suspects is asked to contact the sheriff’s Criminal Investigations Bureau at 805.681.4150, or call the department’s anonymous tip line at 805.681.4171.
