Geneva Walker, a Cabrillo High School junior, has been crowned National American Miss California Junior Teen at the state competition June 4-6.

Along with the title, Walker won a four-year, $120,000 college scholarship to Midland University.

Walker is an honors student and tennis team athlete who plans on becoming a pediatrician. She will represent California in the national competition in Orlando, Florida, in November.

Her family, which has lived in Lompoc since 1907, has a long history of service in the community as city commissioners, school district staff, Elks Lodge members, and small business owners (Stalker’s Apparel).

National American Miss focuses on building confidence for young women by fostering communication skills and empowering the next generation of female leaders to set bold goals and achieve them.

During the competition, Walker had to display excellence in an on-stage personal introduction; a series of interviews with judges; academic achievement; extracurricular and community service activities in her resume; and poise during the formal wear presentation.

She also competed in several optional competitions, winning spokesmodel and casual wear modeling. Her speech, titled “Gratitude: A Choice that Changes Everything,” addressed the importance of being grateful for what we have and helping others.

Walker’s platform, Care4AllCreatures.org (https://care4allcreatures.org/), is focused on spreading kindness and taking action to care for all of earth’s amazing creatures.

As a newly crowned state titleholder, Walker will serve as a role model and ambassador throughout 2025-26, championing her platform and continuing to mentor and uplift other youth in her community and beyond.
