Local high school softball stars Caitlyn Early and Bella Nuño were each awarded All-State honors by Cal-Hi Sports.
Early plays at San Marcos High and will graduate next year, while Nuño graduated from Dos Pueblos High in June.
Both players were named to the Medium Schools First Team after stellar 2023 seasons.
Nuño led the Chargers with 18 homers, which was good for second in the state, along with 38 RBIs, 48 runs scored and a .500 batting average.
Meanwhile, Early knocked 14 home runs while driving in 39 runs, scoring 38 and hitting .473, all of which led the Royals.
Early, who is committed to play softball at Notre Dame, was also named to the All-State Underclass First Team.
