CALM’s signature fall event CALM at Heart raised more than $375,000 to interrupt the intergenerational cycles of childhood trauma in the Santa Barbara community.

The 11th annual luncheon, held at the Montecito Club, was led by emcee Geoff Green. Event co-chairs Carolyn Fitzgerald, Belle Hahn, Analise Maggio, and Caroline Powers were joined by 240 supporters to honor CALM’s work.

After a premiere of CALM’s new video, Alana Walczak, president/CEO, rallied attendees to support every child, family and the community.

“CALM is everywhere in our county doing crucial prevention and intervention work, and CALM’s therapists offer lifelines to the most vulnerable children and families among us who have experienced profound traumas,” said Andrew Fitzgerald, board chair.

“Why do I support CALM? Because I believe in the interconnectedness of our community,” he said. “I know that when a child or family anywhere in Santa Barbara County is suffering, it affects all of us, because it weakens our shared home and it frays our communal trust.”

All funds from the event support CALM’s childhood trauma prevention and treatment programs, as well as fostering a culture of staff well-being and care.
