Held at the Toyota Santa Maria roofto April 28, the event attracted some 200 supporters who were treated to appetizers fromTrattoria Uliveto, and local wine provided by Grocery Outlet Santa Maria and Allan Hancock College.
Food and drinks were served by local celebrity waiters including Police Chief Marc Schneider, Santa Maria Chamber of Commerce President Glenn Morris, Allan Hancock College President Kevin Walthers, and David LeRoy, general manager of Toyota Santa Maria.
Through sponsorships, ticket sales, and direct donations, some $90,000 was raised for CALM’s work in Santa Maria. It is a record-breaking total for Ladies Get Loud, thanks to the community.
All funds from this event support CALM’s childhood trauma prevention and treatment programs in the Santa Maria Valley.
CALM’s president, Alana Walczak and North County regional manager Yvonne Nelson talked abut the services CALM provides in Santa Maria and the critical work that remains. With community partners such as Marian Regional Medical Center, Public Health, YMCA, and the community’s support, CALM offers hope for a strong future for children throughout Santa Maria.
“I am so proud that we are able to do this work, but I know we can’t do it alone or only one at a time,” Nelson said. “We need to cast a wider net. We rely on our partners to reach more families. We need to go where families are so we can support providers who are also doing this important work.”
