The southbound on-ramp, No. 1 (left) and No. 2 (center) lanes of Highway 101 will be closed between Fairview Avenue and Patterson Avenue in Goleta during the overnight hours, 8 p.m.-6 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 30.
The emergency ramp and lane closure is necessary to allow Caltrans to add two drainage inlets on the southbound shoulder of the highway. The roadwork will include a grind-and-pave operation.
Motorists headed southbound may exit U.S. 101 at South Patterson Avenue. Motorists can expect delays not to exceed 15 minutes. Lane/ramp closures will continue next week 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Friday.
Contractor for the $270,000 project is CalPortland Construction of Santa Maria. All work should be complete in mid-February, weather permitting.
Caltrans reminds motorists to move over and slow down when driving through highway construction zones. For traffic updates in Santa Barbara County, call Caltrans District 5 Public Affairs, 805-549-3318 or visit https://dot.ca.gov/caltrans-near-me/district-5.
