Caltrans will begin an emergency project to stabilize an embankment and perform pavement repairs along westbound State Route 166, just west of Bull Canyon Road in San Luis Obispo County starting Sunday, Aug. 1. Motorists will encounter a 24/7 closure of westbound SR 166 from 7 p.m. Aug. 1 until 2 p.m. Friday Aug. 6.
One-way reversing traffic control utilizing the eastbound lane with flaggers will be in place during the lane closure. Motorists can expect delays not to exceed 10 minutes. Electronic message signs will be activated informing motorists about the project.
Contractor for the $330,000 project is CalPortland Construction of Santa Maria. This project is expected to be complete in mid-August.
Caltrans reminds motorists to move over and slow down when driving through highway construction zones.
