To support education for cancer awareness, Brittany Rice, a cancer survivor and founder of Millesime Cellars, has created a private label this year for Teddy Bear Cancer Foundation (TBCF) and will donate 25 percent of the proceeds from every bottle sold.
Rice, whose mission is to give back to nonprofits who support cancer awareness, was diagnosed with acute lymphatic leukemia cancer when she was three-years-old. After numerous trials, she was pronounced cured at age 10.
“Growing up having cancer, there wasn’t a lot of support for kids with cancer,” Rice said. “A lot of the guide and reassurance and balance wasn’t there, so I think it’s amazing that Teddy Bear is there to support kids that way.”
TBCF estimates that in 2019 it will help 190 families living in the tri-county region. TBCF relies on the support of the community through financial donations and volunteer support.
September is National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month; readers can make a difference by buying a bottle, donating or volunteering your time.
