Congressman Salud Carbajal, 24th District, will visit San Ysidro Pharmacy in Montecito at 3:15 p.m. Friday, Feb. 28 to discuss pressing issues facing independent pharmacies.
Topics to be discussed will be the significant effects of Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBM) on independent pharmacy reimbursements; rising costs of prescription medication for patients; and the ongoing closures of independent pharmacies that are impacting communities nationwide.
During the visit, Carbajal will meet with the pharmacy’s owner, pharmacists and staff to hear firsthand about the challenges they face in delivering quality care to their patients.
A second recently released FTC Staff Report on Prescription Drug Middlemen will also be discussed. The latest interim staff report is part of the FTC’s ongoing study of the PBM industry,
