The Carpinteria City Council has scheduled a special meeting for 6 p.m. Thursday, July 10 to discuss the city’s potential response and support strategies following recent federal immigration activity in the community.



The meeting was called in direct response to immigration raids that took place in Carpinteria earlier this week, the city said.

The City Council will address community concerns and consider possible actions and resources to support impacted residents.

Community members are urged to attend and participate.

The meeting will be accessible in the following formats:
• Attend in person in City Council Chambers at City Hall, 5775 Carpinteria Ave.

• Watch on Government Access Television Channel 21, broadcast live and rebroadcast the following Wednesday at 8 p.m. and Saturday at 5 p.m.

Community members are welcome and encouraged to voice their comments and concerns regarding any city-related issue and during any City Council meeting, including the next regularly scheduled meeting on Monday, July 14, the city said.
