Carpinteria High track & field swept a Citrus Coast League meet with Hueneme on Thursday.

The Warrior girls remained undefeated in league action with a 99-15 win while the boys earned their first league win by the score of 70-66.

“A beautiful afternoon made for a solid day for the Warriors,” Carpinteria High head coach Van Latham said. “We took another step forward in our development. It was a nice way to head into spring break.”

The Carpinteria High girls won 14 of the 15 events, led by double-winners Vivian Huskins, Averi Alexander, Melanie Avalos and Halleh Gahan.

Huskins won the 100 meter and 200 meter at 13.34 and 27.21 seconds, respectively, while Alexander won the long jump at 15-7.75 and the triple jump at 34-7.25.

The other girls’ first-place finishers were Giarys Gomez (400 meter), Kiana Kiah (800 meter), Jackie Guadian (1,600 meter) and Makenna Tobin (high jump).

The boys throwers provided big points for Carpinteria as Yohann Garcia placed first in the shot put and discus at 35-11.75 and 109-5, respectively.

Sawyer Kelly came out on top in the high jump with a 5-2 clearance and Jeremy Haines won the pole vault with a 10-foot clearance.
