Carpinteria High boys tennis fell by a score of 13-5 in a non-league contest with Simi Valley on Tuesday in Carpinteria.
“We adjusted our lineup a bit, but I was happy with some of the changes and some of the results, especially in doubles,” Carpinteria High head coach Charles Bryant said. “We were actually tied 3-3 after the first round, but then Simi settled in and started to play much better.”
The Warrior duos of Servando Campuzano/John Morrison and Edwin Hernandez/Ethan Almgren accounted for the majority of the team’s points as they each went 2-1 on the day.
In singles, Kamran Dadvar rounded out the Carpinteria High scoring with a tiebreaking victory.
“Overall, it was a good team for us to play as we hit the home stretch of the season,” Bryant said. “Simi is a solid team and well coached, but I was happy with how we competed and am looking forward to our final Citrus Coast League matches.
“We still have a chance for first place, but need to pull out both of our matches to do so.”
The Warriors are now 8-6 overall and 5-1 against Citrus Coast League opponents.
