Carpinteria High boys water polo held on for a 10-8 win over Thousand Oaks on Tuesday in Carpinteria.
The Warriors and Lancers battled throughout the early stages of the matchup, with Ryder Shaw scoring two goals early as the two sides battled to a 4-4 tie in the second.
Carpinteria’s Junius Fedders scored to break the tie, and the Warriors continued to pull away thanks to Shaw and Fedders to take a 9-5 advantage into the fourth.
Thousand Oaks battled back in the final quarter, but a penalty save by Stefano Picoletti and an insurance goal by Oscar De Leon sealed the 10-8 win for Carpinteria.
The Warriors will host Foothill Tech on Wednesday afternoon.
