Carpinteria High cross country competed in the first Citrus Coast League cluster meet on Thursday at Arroyo Verde Park in Ventura.
The Warrior girls team placed third, while the boys team took home fourth place in a meet that is worth 25% of the league championship.
On the girls side, the duo of Jaqueline Guadian and Mila Martins led the way with fifth and sixth-place individual finishes, respectively. Guadian crossed the finish line in 22:08, while Martins finished in 22:25.
They were followed by teammates Kenzi Gardner (24:45, 15th), Giarys Gomez (25:12, 17th), Victoria Martinez (25:40, 20th) and Lisa Stineman (26:25, 24th).
As for the boys team, the lone top 10 finisher was Max Soto, whose time of 17:36 was good enough for eighth place overall.
The other Carpinteria racers were Aaron Ortega (18:09, 12th), Edwin Hernandez (18:13, 13th), Jaiden Ambriz (19:43, 26th), Christian Dominguez (20:01, 30th), Gil Gomez (20:04, 31st) and Ronny Rosales-Bui (20:09, 32nd).
The Warriors will compete in the Ojai Invitational next weekend.
