Carpinteria High football struggled to keep up with a 48-0 loss to Fillmore High on Friday in Fillmore.
Fillmore was in complete control from the opening kickoff, piling on 21 points in the first quarter and never looking back en route to the win.
The Flashes returned a pair of punt returns for a touchdown and scored on several big plays throughout the night.
“Fillmore is a good team. They have size up front and good team speed. We gave up too many big plays. Missing 5 starters on each side of the ball was too much for us to overcome. Fillmore outplayed us in every phase of the game,” Carpinteria High head coach Van Latham said.
“Our pre-league schedule has been challenging. We will continue to learn, improve and gain experience in preparation for our league schedule.”
The Warriors (0-4) will round out non-league action at home against Calvary Chapel Santa Ana next Friday.
