The Carpinteria High surf team competed in its third Scholastic Surf Series competition on Sunday at the Ventura Fairgrounds.

The Warriors fell to Santa Barbara High in their head-to-head matchup as the Dons took first in four heats while Carpinteria picked up two heats.

John Morrison and Charlotte Cooney led the Carpinteria effort with a pair of first-place overall finishes in their respective events. Morrison took first in the co-ed boogie board while Cooney finished atop the girls longboard competition.

Wyatt Pitterle finished as the runner-up in the boys shortboard contest while Izzy Scott slotted into third in girls shortboard.

Noah Morente rounded out the Warriors in the finals with a fifth-place finish in the boys longboard.

Carpinteria High is now 2-1 on the season and will resume competition on Sunday, Dec. 15 at the Ventura Fairgrounds.

Santa Barbara High surf did not provide team results to Noozhawk.
