A Carpinteria football player suffered a head injury in Friday’s game at Brentwood and was taken to UCLA Medical Center, coach Mario Robinson reported on Saturday.

“The player had a bad concussion and went to UCLA,” he said.

The Warriors lost the nonlegue game, 45-0.

“We continue to play hard, but we are young, and not playing a full season with the sophomores last year hurts their development and game experience,”  said Robinson. “We will continue to make adjustments and get better each game to prepare for league play.”

Carpinteria (0-4) plays host to 3-0 Mission Prep of San Luis Obispo on Friday.
