The Carpinteria girls lost their first match of the season in a first-round CIF contest with Santa Fe, 10-8.

The Warriors finish the season at 6-1, with a 6-0 record as champtions of the Citrus Coast League.

Cassandra Maya Prado and Natalia Perez swept their three doubles sets for Carpinteria. Overall the Warriors went 7-2 in doubles, but won only one set in singles.  Zahra Porinsh went 1-2, suffering only her first and second set losses of the season.

Natalie Martinez and Ashley Gonzalez went 2-1 in doubles, and Valeria Ojeda and Abbie Delwiche were 1-2.

“It was a bit unfortunate, as we just came out of the gates slow and did not get going until the third round,” Carpinteria coach Charles Bryant said. “We battled and gave a good effort but we just were not as sharp as we normally are and it cost us in the end.”
