Carpinteria’s boys and girls teams finished the Citrus Coast League dual meet season undefeated with wins against Nordhoff Wednesday.
The Warrior boys finished 5-0 in the CCL and are 7-3 overall after beating the Rangers 90 to 36, and the girls are 5-0 in league and 6-4 overall after winning 81-54.
The CCL finals will be held at Carpinteria on May 27.
Among highlights, Alexandra Zapata won three events for the Carpinteria girls. She won the 300 meter hurdles — an encore after her county championship in that event — with a time of 50.49. Zapata also won the 400 meters with 66 seconds and anchored the winning 4×400 relay team.
Ainslee Alexander won the triple jump, shot put and pole vault for an unusual triple. Her 7-6 clearance in the vault equaled her personal record, while she threw 25-11.25 in the shot and jumped 31-8 in the triple jump.
Fatima Cervantes cleared 4-10 in the high jump for the seventh time this season to win that event.
For the boys, Vincent Rinaldi won the 100 and 200 with times of 11.02 and 21.89, respectively. The 200 time is a record for the Nordhoff-Carpinteria dual meet.
Esai Vega set a new PR of 148-0 in the discus to win the event. He also won the shot with a PR or 42-0.75.
Tristan Cravens was a double winner in the hurdles with PRs of 18.43 in the 110 highs and 45.77 in the 300 intermediates.
Mateo Handall won the 400 meters with a time of 51.93. He also anchored the winning 4×400 relay team.
