The Carpinteria girls volleyball team lost a four-set match to Malibu Thursday, but came away with lessons to build on.
The set score were 25-22, 25-11, 21-25, 25-16.
“We had quite the night with some good comebacks, improved blocking, strong serving and great defensive plays,” Warrior coach Greg Novak said.
Lizbeth Alpizar led Carpinteria with seven kills and two aces. Libero Ashley Mora added three downball kills and four aces. Sawyer Taff created a nice blocking wall with Averi Alexander to get four points.
“Though we suffered the loss, we learned a lot tonight and have more ideas for practice to improve our game,” Novak said.
Carpinteria plays a home match next Thursday against Hueneme.
