A Carpinteria second-half rally fell short, and the Warriors lost a 57-50 girls basketball decision to Nordhoff on Tuesday at the Nordhoff Tournament.
After trailing by 33-19 at halftime, Carpinteria battle back back and pulled to within five in the fourth quarter. Nordhoff was able to hold off the Warriors thanks to the shooting of Ela Ruf. She scored 12 of her team’s 14 points in the final quarter.
Amarisse Camargo and Jamaica Cook each recorded double-doubles for Carpinteria. Camargo had 22 points and 13 rebounds along with four steals. Cook scored 10 points and grabbed 11 boards and added two steals.
