Hueneme came back from two games down to defeat Carpinteria Friday, 14-25, 13-25, 27-25, 25-17, 15-13.

Joachin Gonzales and Zach Isaac recorded five kills each, Arata Tomatsuri had six blocks and 25 digs. Gavin Lohuis had 35 digs and Reyn Clayton 29.

After winning the first two games by comfortable scores, Warrior coach put in some substitutes who had been practicing well to start the third.

“But it was like someone turned the competitive switch on for the Vikings,” Caughey said. “I then had to put all the starters back in and we were making a good comeback, but Hueneme was like a completely different team than the one that played us in the first 2 sets.”
