The Carpinteria girls opened Citrus Coast League play Tuesday by blanking Santa Paula, 18-0.
“We played a complete match today,” Warrior coach Charles Bryant said. “We closed out sets nicely today, yet also had a couple of sets where we were down late but ended up flipping the score to pull out a win.
“I was happy with both of those scenarios as we showed a lot of focus and fight, two things we have been stressing in practice.”
Singles players Silke Leonard and Neida Garcia both went 3-0, as did the doubles teams of Cassandra Maya Prado/Natalia Perez and Natalie Martinez/Ariana Lounsbury.
“I thought our doubles played really well today,” Bryant said. “They were starting to get more aggressive at the net, which I love to see.
“Overall, I was very happy with our efforts today but we must turn the page and start to focus on Hueneme for Thursdays match.”
Carpinteria is 8-8 on the season overall.
