Junior Cassidy Hadjucko had a hat trick, including the game winner on Friday as Carpinteria rallied past host Santa Ynez 11-10 in a non-league girls water polo game.
“The game was intense with turnovers left and right through solid defensive play on both teams with a score of 8-8 at the end of the third,” said Warriors coach Sergio Castaneda. “We were missing two starting players and trailed 10-9 in the fourth before making a couple of strong offensive plays that won the game.
“Sophomore Briana Rodriguez had a phenomenal game in set, threatening to score any time that the ball came in, and doing so for three crucial goals. Cassidy Hadjucko also had a strong game on both offense and defense.”
Carpinteria (3-2) will take a few weeks off for finals and winter break.
