The Warriors’ Vincent Rinaldi remained undefeated in the boys 100 and 200 meter dashes, as the Carpinteria boys and girls track teams swept Hueneme in their Citrus Coast League openers Thursday.
Rinaldi posted times in the 100 and 200 of 11.03 and 22.15 seconds, respectively.
“Another solid performance for Vincent, considering it wasn’t the best conditions for sprinters,” coach Van Latham said. “It was a cool and damp afternoon.”
Tristan Cravens also was a double winner, finishing the 110 meter high hurdles in 19.4 seconds and the 300 meter intermediate hurdles in 47.63 seconds.
The Warriors won the boys’ meet by a score of 81 to 53, to improve to 3-3 overall and 1-0 in the CCL.
For the Carpinteria girls, Emma Holmstrom won the 100 meter hurdles with a personal record of 19.74 seconds, and was an upset winner in the long jump with another PR, of 15-1.75.
Alex Zapata also was a double winner, winning the 400 meter run in 1:06.36 and the 300 meter hurdles in 56.13.
The girls won by a score of 76 to 35, improving to 2-4 overall and 1-0 in CCL competition.
