Close swims in the last Citrus Coast League meet of the regular season prompted some personal records for Carpinteria swimmers against Nordhoff on Wednesday.
The Warrior boys beat Nordhoff 89-32, while the girls lost 102-54.
For the boys, freshman Asher Smith PR’ed in three different events, the 50 freestyle (24.46 seconds, to shave 3.32 seconds off his previous best), the 500 freestyle (-1:30s to a 05:46.26, 1:30 off), and his leg of the 400 freestyle relay (54.86 for 1.26 off).
For the girls, the Clayton sisters, junior Piper and freshman Devyn, achieved PRs in the 500 freestyle (6:00.83) and the 100 butterfly (1:24.85) respectively.
The boys team remains undefeated at 4-0 in league and 5-0 overall, while the girls are 3-2 both overall and in league.
“Regardless of results, the continual improvement and drive of the team is incredible and I hope to push that energy and motivation all the way through CIF” competition, coach Sergio Castaneda said.
